Introduction

In 2024, our crew embarked on a 4WD trip to Wilbinga, WA, keen for a day out tackling the iconic dunes and tracks of the region. The adventure kicked off at the Wilbinga carpark, where we gathered, checked over our rigs, and sorted out convoy order before hitting the tracks. Spirits were high as everyone looked forward to a day filled with sand, sun, and plenty of banter.

Setting Off: Wilbinga Carpark Meet-Up

The day started early with everyone meeting at the Wilbinga carpark. After a quick yarn and making sure all vehicles were good to go, we aired down the tyres and set off west towards the beach, eager to get stuck into the tracks and dunes Wilbinga is famous for.

Track Journey and Dune Challenges

The tracks leading west towards the coast offered a good mix of terrain, giving us the chance to test out our 4WDs and enjoy the scenery. Before long, we reached the first set of dunes and hill climbs. Tackling the dunes required a bit of skill and patience, and we took it one by one, watching and learning from each attempt. Some of the larger dunes proved challenging, with a couple of vehicles needing a few goes to make it over the top. There was plenty of encouragement and advice flying around, showcasing the classic Aussie camaraderie you find on these trips.

Beach BBQ and Relaxation

After conquering the dunes, we made our way down to the beach, where we set up for a classic Aussie BBQ lunch. With the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze, it was the perfect spot to kick back, fire up the grill, and enjoy some snags and burgers. Everyo

Return Journey: Beach Drive home

Once lunch was wrapped up and we’d had some time to chill, it was time to hit the beach for the drive home. Cruising along the shoreline, we took in the stunning views and reflected on a top day out. It was the perfect end to a memorable trip, filled with laughs, challenges, and plenty of good times.
